SHAKESPEARE AUDITION WORKSHOP
(3 Weeks):
Taught by Andrew S. Hurley
A 3-Week Class designed to get you ready to audition for SHAKESPEARE
This workshop will help students choose and prepare a Shakespeare
monologue for classical auditions. Students will learn how to go about finding and preparing monologues for specific roles.
Week 1 - Will concentrate on finding the right monologue for the student, casting and first rehearsal of a classical scene.
Week 2 - Will concentrate on performance and delivery of scenes and monologues dress and presentation for different types of auditions.
Week 3 - Will focus on polishing monologues and scene studies, including a discussion of back up monologues. Time permitting, the student will participate in a mock audition in which notes will be provided to the student.
Andrew S. Hurley is a born & bred Shakespearean actor who has taught Shakespeare to all ages (including children and working actors on HBO's OZ). Andrew also recently directed his first film and has co-starred with Jagger Kaye in the Off-Broadway original show "The Edge" as well as played Chekhov's "The Bear" directed by Jagger Kaye to sold-out, SRO performances.
